Seventh Veil was born in the summer of 2011 from the ashes of LastRide, an hard rock band from Verona. At the beginning of 2012 the band (Steven, Jack, Holly, Jeff and Joe) recorded its first EP titled “Nasty Skin”, followed by months of intense promotional activity and lots of reviews form around the world. After replacing Joe with Eric Roxx behind the drums, the band never stopped composing and, helped by its frequent gigs at local venues (and the first foreign experience in Greece), refined its songwriting skills. Before the end of the year they inked a deal with Street Symphonies Records and entered the Atomic Stuff Recording Studio in Isorella (BS), Italy, to record their debut album “White Trash Attitude”. During the recording sessions, Eric mysteriously disappeared, leaving the band without a drummer. After months of researches and temporary replacements, Eric suddenly reappeared to re-join the band, leaving all his personal demons behind, just in time for the summer gigs around Italy and a couple of festivals in Czech Republic and France. The album, that was recorded, mixed and mastered by Oscar Burato at Atomic Stuff Recording Studio, improves and refines in a more personal way the hard rock/sleaze of the previous work, without losing its 80′s-inspired sound from the Sunset Strip and keeping in mind the recent Scandinavia-based trends. Ten tracks oozing with adrenaline, sweat and dedication, catchy melodies and refrains: a dive into a world full of beautiful girls, fast cars and alcohol a go-go in a joyful and, as you can guess from the title, “white trash” atmosphere: it’s only rock’n'roll but… you’ll like it!!!

With three members over the age of 45 and 5 members under the age of 35, Buck69 is influenced by more than three generations of music. They are influenced by who, what, where, when and how their everyday lives start and end! Music is Buck69′s way to express their inner feelings. In 2002 after a short sabbatical to concentrate on wife, kids and career, Tom Clawson formerly of “T.C. Rogers & The Blue’s Hamilton Band” 1970′s Warren, OH. (Singer-Songwriter-Guitar) along with his oldest son Alex Clawson from the band “BHB” Toledo, OH (Singer-Songwriter-Guitar) decided to start playing out as an acoustic duo. Playing originals and covers in and around the local Toledo, Ohio area. In June of 2004, persuaded by his son, the decision was made to go with a full band. The band offers a diverse ageless Genre of “Electric Blues and Roots Rock”

You’ve probably noticed by now that this editor has a thing for blues… Not just any blues but soulful blues. That’s why I flipped out when Tommy sent me an email responding to my cry for new bands to be featured in our newsletters. Not only is Buck69 talented, well put together and ready for the big stage but they also have a tone that keeps you coming back for more. The use of lead and rhythm guitar is done to a classic drumbeat and vocals that rock the house. This band is there for the music and it’s that transparency that makes them uniquely refreshing. If you like to dance, sing and shout, I have a feeling that Buck69 is for you. As I danced around my office when I was checking this band out, I could hardly imagine how much fun it would be to see them live. I highly recommend this band to anyone who enjoys rock or blues. Very impressive licks mixed in with a great drumbeat that makes a groove you can’t help but listen to. I have very high expectations for this group and have no doubts that they will continue to improve as they walk up the ladder to a major record deal and national attention. Originally from Mississippi but now calling Memphis, Tennessee home, Dirty Streets (guitarist and vocalist Justin Toland, bassist Thomas Storz, and drummer Andrew Denham) are a power trio specializing in the kind of hard boogie blues-rock that characterized bands like Humble Pie and Cream, and with Toland’s Southern soul half-shouted blues vocal Genre out front, they sound, too, a little like the Black Crowes gone leaner and hungrier. This set, the group’s third following two earlier independent releases, was recorded at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis, which no doubt adds to the full, throwback retro hard rock sound the band excels at. Dirty Streets aren’t about innovation, and they certainly haven’t reinvented the hard rock wheel on Blades of Grass, but they’ve captured exactly the classic ’60s and early-’70s feel of that era’s blues-rock trios, and they’ve done it with sharp, sturdy songs that have a distinct blue-collar, working-man feel to them. Clear highlights on this rocking, straight-up, and honest album are the opening “Stay Thirsty” and the street-smart and wise “Talk,” although the band hits a thumping groove everywhere here, not ever trying to be clever, current, or fancy, but just plowing through like a real rock band whose members aren’t worried one bit about beats, tape loops, or synthesized effects. Yeah, what this band does is going to be called retro, and it is by design. Built in the image of the classic power rock trios, with just a pinch of deep Southern gothic thrown in, Dirty Streets are all the more refreshing for not trying to be the next big thing. They rock, and they know it doesn’t really matter what era you’re in — if you can rock, you’ll work. Review by Steve Leggett
